John 4:31-42

“Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest” (v35).  Jesus urged his disciples to recognize that the spiritual harvest was ready, and it would come in where they least expected it: among the Samaritan woman’s friends, for example.  These people, considered heretics by Jews, invited Jesus to stay in their town, and when they spent time with him, they said, “we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world” (v42).

“One sows and another reaps” (v37).  Wherever we are, we can sow seeds of truth and love or reap the harvest of decisions for Christ; in the end, we will all rejoice together (v36).
