Acts 8:26-40
/“Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him” (v30-31). Throughout Acts, we see God preparing individuals like the Ethiopian eunuch to receive the gospel. This devout man, the royal treasurer of Ethiopia, had worshipped in Jerusalem and was reading Isaiah, searching for truth. Philip obeyed the Spirit’s leading and approached the unknown foreigner to give an explanation about Jesus (v26,29).
“He told him the good news about Jesus” (v35). The Ethiopian already had the book of Isaiah, but he needed Philip’s witness. As we obey the Spirit’s guidance, we each get to play a part in sharing the good news.
