Psalm 64

“Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked” (v2). The psalmist expressed his need for God to “hide him” from the underhanded, hard-to-fight, “secret” strategies of the enemy (v2-4).  Our limited human perspective makes it difficult for us to discern lies from truth, especially when there is an “evil purpose” (v5) laying snares to entangle us.  Thankfully, we don’t depend on our own powers; God is our wisdom and our strength (v7-10).

No enemy – neither life nor death, present or future (Romans 8) – can separate us from God’s love. We can “rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in Him” (v10).
