Acts 13:13-52

“And we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers, this he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus …” (v32-33).  Paul declared the “good news” that forgiveness of sins was proclaimed in Jesus’ name, and all who believed could find freedom (v38-39).  Many responded eagerly to the message and wanted to hear more (v43-44, 48); their spiritual hunger drove them to “follow Paul and Barnabas” (v43).  The crowds were so big that city leaders kicked the missionaries out their region.

“They began rejoicing and glorifying the word of God” (v48).  When we realize that receiving Jesus frees us from sin and brings light into our darkness, our natural response is thankfulness and joy.
