Acts 20:25-38

“And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified” (v32).  Paul did not have the luxury of staying a lifetime with these disciples.  Instead, he appointed leaders and trusted that the Holy Spirit would continue to work among them (v28).  He warned them against “fierce wolves” who would try to deceive and admonished them to work hard (v29, 35).

“Therefore, be alert …” (v31).  Though we face temptations and the “fierce wolves” of twisted thinking, God’s Spirit and “the word of his grace” are able to build us up until we reach our inheritance.
