Psalm 78:1-10
/“Tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and His might, and the wonders that He has done … so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God” (v4-7). The psalmist said that God’s people should tell the truth to the next generation: the good news about belonging to God and the consequences of not following Him (v8). Past generations of Israelites had been “stubborn and rebellious;” they “forgot His works and the wonders He had shown them” (v11) and died in the desert.
“We will not hide [it] from their children” (v4). The next generation needs to hear the whole truth, so that they “set their hope in God” (v7).
