Psalm 78:11-72

“His anger rose against Israel, because they did not believe in God and did not trust his saving power” (v21-22).  The Israelites’ sexual immorality and idolatry came from lack of trust in the Lord, even though He had rescued them from Egypt and given them manna in the desert.  They had seen His faithfulness and miracles, yet, “despite His wonders, they did not believe” (v32).  God was compassionate and “restrained His anger often” (v38); instead of destroying them completely, He gave them a sanctuary (v69).

“He divided the sea and let them pass through it … “(v13).  God demonstrates His miraculous power so that we will believe that He loves us and learn to trust and obey Him.
