Job 10

“Why did you bring me out from the womb?” (v18). Job’s troubles and frustration with being unjustly accused – his friends all thought that God was punishing him – caused him to question his life’s purpose. He believed that God had “fashioned and made” him (v8), but he could not discern anything good in his life. How could injustice and suffering be worthwhile? What was the point? “Are not my days few?” (v20). Job wanted answers before he died.

“You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit” (v12). No matter what we are going through, God’s care can guard our spirits and give us hope. He has a good purpose for our lives.
