Hebrews 1-2
/“Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise [shared in] the same things (Heb 2:14). Hebrews says that the Son who is the radiance of God’s glory and the “exact imprint” of His nature (ch 1) chose to share in our flesh and blood. We were trapped in sin and terrified of death, and so God sent Jesus, “that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery” (2:15).
Because Jesus felt our weakness and temptations, He is our “merciful and faithful high priest” and can help “those who are being tempted” (2:18).
