Hebrews 5-6
/“And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (6:11-12). The author of Hebrews wanted believers to persevere through trials and temptations, just like Abraham “patiently waited” (6:15) through years of unfulfilled dreams, trusting the Lord’s promises. No matter how challenging the circumstances, the “heirs of the promise” believed God’s good purposes were unshakeable (6:17).
“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul” (v6:19). We can hold on to our faith even amid doubts and storms, knowing God will fulfill all His promises.
