Micah 1-3

“But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD, and with justice and might, to declare … to Israel his sin” (3:8). The prophet Micah fearlessly took on the wealthy and the political and religious leaders of his day (3:1). He condemned those who took houses and land from the poor “because it is in the power of their hand” (2:1), as well at the priests who “teach for a price” (3:11). God had blessed Israel, yet those who benefited from this blessing became greedy and self-centered.

“Is not the Lord in the midst of us?” (3:11). God’s presence in our midst is revealed when we extend His generosity and compassion to others.
