Revelation 14-18

“Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus” (14:12).  John’s visions showed a final reckoning on the earth; the Lord will be victorious and His enemies will be defeated.  This vision gave hope to the persecuted believers in John’s day; they could trust that anything they lost, or suffered, or endured for Jesus’ sake would be worth it in the end.  Their names were in the book of life (17:8), and God would not forget them.

“Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!” (15:3). God promises that our faith in Jesus is not in vain; our names are in His book.
