Psalm 130
/“If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?” (v3). The Old Testament believers were saved by God’s grace and mercy, just like us. The psalmist knew that no one could keep the Law perfectly; no one could “stand” in God’s presence without guilt. “But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you” (v4). We dare to enter God’s presence because “with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption” (v7).
“He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins” (v8). Our hope is in Jesus, who redeems us from sin’s curse and wipes our records clean.
