Isaiah 50
/“Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the voice of his servant? Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the LORD” (v10). Isaiah reminded Israel that they could rely on the Lord, even when it looked like their adversaries were winning. God’s servant (later, the Messiah) endured suffering and insults, yet endured, because God was on his side. He could courageously choose God’s ways – justice, purity, mercy, kindness – because “I know I shall not be put to shame” (v7).
“He who vindicates me is near” (v8). We can choose to walk with Jesus, obeying Him no matter the cost, because we know our King will have the last word.
