Isaiah 52

“The voice of your watchmen--they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the LORD to Zion” (v8). Isaiah prophesied that even though Israel was suffering because of their rebellion, the Lord would “return” to Zion. God’s arrival would bring comfort and redemption, and “all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God” (v10). The redeemed Zion would be a place of holiness, with God dwelling there (v1).

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news …” (v7). The good news is that Jesus came, bringing salvation and holiness, making a way for God to live among us by His Spirit.
