Ephesians 2:11-22
/“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God” (v19). Before Christ, the Gentiles were “strangers and aliens” to the family of Israel, and, like the Jews themselves, “dead in trespasses and sins” (v1), separated from God. But by his death on the cross, Jesus killed the “hostility” that separates us from God and from one another (v16), making real reconciliation possible.
“You are members of the household of God … you are being built together as a dwelling place for God by the Spirit” (v19-22). In Christ, we truly belong – to the Father, and to His household of brothers and sisters.
