Isaiah 54

“For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you” (v10). God told Israel that no matter what happened – no matter what storm, what upheaval, what seeming defeat – His covenant of peace would remain. Because of God’s grace, His people could trust that their future was completely secure; “no weapon” formed against them could succeed (v17).

“Great shall be the peace of your children” (v13). God’s “covenant of peace” in Jesus means that our fellowship with Him can’t be broken by anything – not even death. Today and forever, He is on our side.
