Philippians 1:1-14
/“And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (v6). Paul rejoiced that the Philippians had eagerly received the grace of Jesus. However, Paul believed that the Lord had more for them; their initial belief was just the beginning of Jesus’ work in them and through them. For this reason, Paul prayed “that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment …” (v9-10).
Salvation is the beginning of God’s good work in us. He continues shaping us so that we become healthy, useful, and “filled with the fruit of righteousness” (v11).
