Philippians 1:15-30

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (v21). Paul had settled the big question of life; he knew that his purpose was to love and serve Jesus. With this secure foundation, he was free to contemplate different outcomes. Whether he was released from prison or not, Christ would be honored through his obedience (v21). He encouraged the Philippians to trust God and to let their “manner of life be worthy of the gospel” (v27), so they too could stand firm against persecution.

“This will turn out for my deliverance” (v19). We can trust that when we give our lives to Jesus, He works in every situation for our deliverance and His glory.
