Colossians 1:21-28

“He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ” (v28). Many religions thrived in the region the Colossians lived in, and Paul wanted to make sure they kept their eyes fixed on Jesus. The danger was mixing the gospel with various other “spiritualities” that promised exciting visions or other benefits. Paul urged them to “continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel” (v23).

Paul proclaimed, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (v27). No culture, politics, or moral system can save us; our hope is in Jesus and our eternal citizenship is in His kingdom.
