Genesis 5-7
/“And Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation” (6:9; 7:1). Noah’s generation was remarkable for its wickedness: “every intention of the thoughts of [their hearts] was only evil continually” (v6:5). The world was “corrupt” and “filled with violence” (v6:11). It was so bad that God “was sorry that he had made man” (v6:6). Yet, somehow in this completely wicked society, Noah remembered God’s ways. Noah, alone, remained loyal to the God of truth, beauty, and holiness.
We can’t change the past or control the future. But we have today; we are called to be faithful to Christ in our own generation.
