Matthew 8
/“Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith” (v10). The stories of Jesus’ miracles often feature people who were not considered “clean” by religious rules. The leper had the boldness to approach Jesus but needed affirmation that Jesus desired to heal him. The centurion, a Gentile with no right to approach Jesus, believed He had the power to heal even at a distance. Jesus responded to these individuals with kindness, approving their bold faith that taught others about God’s mercy.
“Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” (v26). No matter our situation, our faith is in Jesus’ power and compassion. He wants us to simply reach out to Him.
