Matthew 7
/“You will recognize them by their fruits” (v16). Jesus told his followers not to ignore their own problems while harshly criticizing others (v1). However, he also told them that they would be able to recognize sincere faith by the evidence of a person’s life. The way of life that Jesus taught was characterized by mercy, humility, purity, and peace (ch 5); this was “the will of my Father” (v21), rather than “mighty works” accomplished with prideful hearts or ungodly means (v22).
Knowing and following Jesus from the heart is “the rock” on which we build our lives (v24). When the wind and rains come, we will stand secure (v25).
