Psalm 66

“Come and see what God has done” (v5).  The psalmist reminds us that going through difficult times is normal for God’s people. The Israelites faced enemies and dangers of all kinds, but the Lord “turned the sea into dry land” (v6).  The people of God are not spared the trials of life, but instead, He brings us safely through them and does not let “our feet slip” (v9). “We went through fire and through water; yet You have brought us out to a place of abundance” (v12).

“I will tell you what He has done for my soul” (v16).  Our testimony is not that we have escaped trouble, but the Lord has been faithful in the midst of it.
