Acts 28

“After we were brought safely through …” (v1).  At the end Acts, Luke tells us that despite all kinds of obstacles and dangers, he, Paul, and others were brought safely to Rome – in chains.  Paul had kept his eyes on his main purpose, which was not his own freedom, rights, or comfort, but testifying about Jesus.  Now in Rome, he spent two years “proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance” (v31).

Paul’s mission was “testifying to the kingdom of God” (v23), so he could flourish even in prison.  When Jesus is our center, our circumstances become ways to know Him better and express His love to the world.
