Acts 21

“Let the will of the Lord be done.” (v14).  Agabus and others prophesied that if Paul went to Jerusalem, he would be captured and delivered over to the Gentiles.  Hearing this, his friends and other believers urged him not to go (v11-13). However, Paul told them that the possibility of capture would not stop him: “For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus” (v13).  Sure enough, after meeting with James, Paul was arrested in Jerusalem’s Temple.

“We got ready and went up to Jerusalem” (v15).  When we decide Jesus is Lord, our own comfort and privileges become secondary to the goal of glorifying Him.
