Psalm 76
/“In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel” (v1). God made Himself “known” in Judah, to a particular people, so that His character could be revealed to the whole world. As Israel’s great protector, no human army could stand against Him; “there He broke the flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war” (v3). God is “to be feared” (v7,11,12), and He uses His strength not just to rescue the children of Abraham, but “to save all the humble of the earth” (v9).
“Glorious are You …” (v4). By sending Jesus, our glorious Creator defeated sin and death and rescued the humble. We are “more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
