Genesis 27-29

“God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may become a company of peoples …” (28:3).  God’s covenant with Abraham was renewed with both Isaac and his son Jacob (28:15), despite their struggles and imperfect faith.  Isaac was deceived by his wife Rebecca and son Jacob (ch 26), while Jacob was then deceived by his father-in-law Laban (ch 29). Abraham’s family stumbled and detoured, yet the Lord remembered His promise: “in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed” (26:4).

God keeps His promises not because we are perfect, but because He is merciful and kind.  His love for us, and “all the nations,” is greater than our failures.
