Genesis 25-26
/“I am the God of Abraham your father. Fear not, for I am with you and will bless you and multiply your offspring for my servant Abraham's sake” (26:24). Isaac had heard of God his whole life and seen Abraham’s devotion. Yet Isaac had to find his own faith – during the struggles of infertility (25:21), during negotiations with other tribesmen, during the loss of both his parents (25:10). Isaac had to discover for himself that “the God of Abraham” was worthy of faith and obedience.
“So he built an altar there and called on the name of the Lord” (26:25). During our own trials, God calls us to Himself, teaching us that He is faithful and worthy of our trust.
