Psalm 10

“Why, O LORD, do you stand far away? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?” (v1).  The psalmist saw arrogant leaders who were successful, even though their language was “filled with cursing and deceit and oppression” (v7), and they ignored God.  They didn’t believe God would call them to account (v13).  But the psalmist remembered that “the Lord is King forever and ever” (v16), and in the end, His ways and authority will prevail.

“But You do see … to you the helpless commits himself” (v14). God sees everything, and He cares for the helpless.  No matter what powers are in charge on earth, He calls us to live by faith according to the Kingdom that is coming.
