Matthew 18

“Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven” (v19).  Jesus’ words about the power of “two or three gathered in my name” (v20) are in the context of dealing with an offending brother (v15) and forgiving each other (v22).  He taught that there was tremendous spiritual power available to believers who pursued healing and reconciliation instead of conflict, because it was a sign to the world of a different kingdom.

God has forgiven us and brought us into His family.  He calls us to forgive each other “from the heart” (v35), so that nothing hinders His presence among us.
