Genesis 44-45
/“And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life” (v5). In Egypt, Joseph’s revealing himself to his brothers must have felt like seeing a resurrection. The young man the brothers had sold, the son Jacob had mourned, was now an important leader ready to save them all. Joseph’s success didn’t erase the years of misery caused by his brothers’ sin, but God redeemed it all to bring life.
“God sent me before you …to keep alive for you many survivors” (v7). God is the redeemer of every aspect of our lives, even turning our wrong choices into opportunities for grace.
