Proverbs 3

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths (v5-6).  In the context of the proverbs, the “paths” we walk (which God wants to guide) concern our speech, actions, and attitudes, even more than our career paths.  A “peaceful” and “pleasant” life that honors God (v17) is built on steadfast love and faithfulness (v3), humility (v7), honesty and respecting others (v27-35), etc.  When we turn from sin and acknowledge God “in all our ways”, life is better.

“She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her …” (v18).  God’s wisdom gives us life – real, abundant, satisfying life.
