Mark 3

“And they watched Jesus, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him” (v2).  Jesus, seeing that many leaders were more concerned with tradition than this man’s desperate need, “grieved at their hardness of heart” (v5).  He was present to extend healing and forgiveness, but many were so distanced from God’s heart that they saw Jesus as an evil trouble-maker (v22). They were full of condemnation, rather than love, and therefore they rejected the Savior – the sin “against the Holy Spirit” (v29).

“For He had healed many” (v10). Being correct can’t help us if we lack compassion. Jesus calls us to embrace His ongoing mission to heal, restore, forgive and redeem the world.
