Mark 4

“And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion” (v37).  Everything was in an uproar and the disciples were terrified, but Jesus was sleeping.  “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” (v38).  But He was teaching them during the storm to trust Him.  Whether all at once or like the slow seed (v1-34), He will bring about His good purposes.

“Peace, be still!” (v39).  Jesus is in the boat with us, calm and in charge. We can be patient, knowing the “small” seed of His kingdom is growing, bringing order and new life to all who receive it.
