Psalm 32

“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered” (v1). The psalmist experienced the great relief and joy of confessing his sins to God and receiving forgiveness.  There was “no deceit” in his relationship with the Lord (v2), because he had realized that trying to keep his sins secret was a recipe for spiritual and emotional disaster. “For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long” (v3).  Instead, confession and reconciliation brought health and joy.

“Steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord” (v10).  We can trust that when we pour out our hearts to the Lord, He is quick to forgive and to surround us with love.
