Numbers 7-9

“The cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony. And at evening it was over the tabernacle like the appearance of fire until morning” (9:15). This was the central point of Israel’s rituals and the source of their existence: the presence of God among them.  As He led them to the Promised Land, God gave them the visible assurance of a cloud during the day and fire at night. With the Lord, they were protected, secure, and sure of the path.

“…in the place where the cloud settled down, there the people of Israel camped” (9:17). Jesus poured out the Spirit so that God’s presence is with us always. We can trust Him to protect, guide, and empower us.
