Proverbs 8

“Does not wisdom call out?” (v1).  The proverbs describe wisdom as God’s “master workman” (v30), at His side from the beginning, helping to shape the universe and cause all things to glorify the Creator.  Through humility and reverence for God, as we rejoice in goodness and turn away from evil, we have access to this wisdom (v13,32-36). Knowing how to live well by God’s standards is worth far more than money, material goods, worldly security, or any other treasure (v19).

“For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD” (v35). God invites us to pursue His wise ways of peace, righteousness, and justice, so that we can enjoy abundant life.
