Deuteronomy 29-30
/“I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life” (30:19). The covenant that God made with the Israelites was more than a set of rules; it was an offer of life. God chose them, led them through the wilderness, and now, in the Promised Land, He called them to live by His ways (ch 29). The goal wasn’t for Israel to be just another nation with unique customs, but for loving, true allegiance to the Creator. “And the Lord your God will circumcise your hearts” (30:6).
Then as now, God desires us to conform our lives to His kingdom. Faith in Jesus means following the King “with all your heart and all your soul” (30:10).
