Psalm 48
/Jerusalem is God’s throne from where He reigns to the “ends of the earth.” (v10). For those who oppose Him it is fear and trembling (5,6), but for those who are His it is “gladness” (v11). It is not physical Jerusalem that provides security; it is God Himself, for He is our fortress (v3).
When we are overwhelmed by life, we need to “walk about Zion” (12) and “consider” (13) who God is. Our God is a strong city with “ramparts” and “citadels” (v13) who is full of steadfast love (v9) for us.
