Revelation 1

“Jesus Christ ... who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father” (v5-6). John made sure that the believers of the seven churches remembered who it was that they were serving, even to the point of suffering. Jesus rescues us from our sins and makes us “a kingdom, priests to his God and Father” – His plan for us is far greater than we can imagine. This Messiah is worth serving and obeying.

“I died, and behold I am alive forevermore” (v18). Jesus has experienced our temptations, weaknesses, and sorrows – even death - and He shares with us His victorious life.
