Ezekiel 44-47

“Then he brought me back to the door of the temple, and behold ... water was flowing down” (47:1). Jerusalem’s temple had been destroyed, but God gave Ezekiel a vision of a new city with a temple right in its center, filled with His presence (ch 43). A deep river flowed out from the sanctuary to water special trees: “their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing” (47:12). This city would have room for all the tribes (47:13), and even foreigners would receive an inheritance (47:23).

“They shall be to you as native-born children of Israel” (47:22). God’s house has room for us all, and in Christ we become citizens, a royal priesthood, beloved children (John 1:12).
