Psalm 141
/“But my eyes are toward you, O GOD, my Lord; in you I seek refuge; leave me not defenseless!” (v8). The psalmist prayed for the Lord’s protection as he battled temptations during a time of pressure. Knowing the danger of impulsive, destructive words, he asked God to “Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!” (v3). Knowing his own weakness, he prayed, “Do not let my heart incline toward evil” (v4).
“O Lord, I call upon you, hasten to me!” (v1). Testing and trials make us face our need and drive us to the Lord, who loves to respond when we call on Him.
