Revelation 12

“The accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God” (v10). John saw war in heaven (v7) between Satan (the “dragon”) and his followers and Michael and his angels. The dragon’s goal was to defeat the Messiah and his Church, but instead “the deceiver of the whole world” was conquered (v9). On earth, this same battle was fought not with worldly weapons, but by “the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony” (v11).

“But he was defeated” (v8). When our trust is in King Jesus, who gave his life to save us, we can stand confidently before God’s throne. The “Accuser” has been defeated, and we are free.
