Zechariah 5-6

“Take from them silver and gold, and make a crown, and set it on the head of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest” (11). Zechariah’s visions reassured the returned exiles that Jerusalem’s Temple would be rebuilt, but the prophecies indicated that God was planning something much better. One day a priest-king would arise who would combine the authority of the throne with the holiness of the priesthood (6:12-14). And the Gentiles, “those who are far off” (6:15) would come help build the Temple of this Promised One.

“Make a crown” (6:11). The Messiah fulfilled all Israel’s hopes and opened His kingdom to everyone. We submit to Him as King and He ministers to us as our High Priest.
