Psalm 145

“On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate” (v5). The psalmist knew the power of meditating on God’s truth; through songs and prayers, he urged God’s people to dwell on the Lord’s abundant goodness, righteousness, mighty deeds, grace and mercy, and steadfast love (v6-8). By speaking, writing, and singing about the Lord, our souls are refreshed, and false ideas are conquered. “The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down” (v14).

“The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth” (v18). As we meditate on the Lord and His ways, He draws close to us.
