I Corinthians 11
/“When you come together as a church …” (v18). Paul wanted the Corinthians to be careful how they gathered together to worship the Lord. Men and women experienced radical freedom in the church (both men and women are praying and prophesying), yet Paul wanted people to remember appropriate order (v1-16). As they ate the Lord’s supper together, they were not to highlight their differences (rich versus poor, v21-22) but to highlight their spiritual unity under the new covenant in Jesus blood.
“Wait for one another” (v33). As the Body of Christ, we do not follow the unjust and selfish ways of society, but we honor one another as brothers and sisters in the Lord.
