Philippians 2
/“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who ... did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself ...” (v5-8). Paul told the Philippians that the example of humility and love they should follow was none other than Jesus himself. They should “do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit” (v3) so that, in a selfish world, they would be known as “children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world” (v15).
We aren’t alone as we imitate Jesus: “it is God who works in you, to will and to work for His good pleasure” (v13).
