Isaiah 2
/“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths” (v3). Isaiah saw a beautiful future day in which the nations would not go to war anymore, but instead they would delight in God’s ways. Looking forward to this coming day of both judgment and healing (v2), Isaiah called Israel to give up their idols – which had led to their destruction and defeat - and be reconciled to God (6-18).
“Let us walk in the light of the LORD” (v5). We are called to live now as citizens of the peaceful, righteous kingdom that is coming.
