Psalm 102

“Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress!” (v2).  The psalmist felt like a “desert owl” or “lonely sparrow,” isolated in his troubles, yet he believed that God would not only help him, but also “Zion” – all God’s people.  No matter how dark things looked, he was confident in the Lord’s goodness, “that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD” (v18).  God was quick to “hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die” (v20). 

“The children of your servants shall dwell secure” (v28). God’s faithfulness doesn’t run out.  His kindness and mercy are at work in our generation and those to come.
